Mid-term exam is optional and usually lasts 1 hour and a half; it is usually scheduled on the semester’s 8th week. Final exam is mandatory and lasts 3 hours; it is usually scheduled during the semester’s 16th week.
The teacher may be asked to proctor his own exam, though in many cases a different instructor or a university staff is assigned to do it. Please let us know if you have any preferences in the matter.
The due date to submit the exam material is indicated on the Program Calendar and is usually at least one week before the scheduled exam date. Please also provide the answer key, so that, should students approach our department with queries concerning their results, the Program Director may provide them with some explanations.
The University arranges to produce enough copies of the exam for all students enrolled in the final exam. The copies will be available in a large brown envelop at the office for the teacher or staff proctoring the exam. After proctoring the exam, the teacher should go the Registrar Office in building 12, in order to get a stamp on the envelope containing the exam papers of the students. After that, the teacher keeps the exam papers and correct and grade them. Grades ideally should be submitted one week after the exam date or at least within 2 weeks after the exam date.
If you proctor an exam, please make sure to have all students sign on the exam attendance sheet. Also all students are required to show their students ID card when taking an exam.
Siam University applies the 80% attendance policy as suggested by the Ministry of University Affairs (MUA). Therefore all teachers should take attendance for each class meeting. A template is provided at the end of this document.
