Siam University was originally founded by Dr. Narong Mongkhonvanit in 1965 and has developed to become today Thailand's 5th largest private university.
Mission
Siam's mission is to produce students who are competent, efficient and confident in their fields of study and ultimately in their chosen fields of work.
These traits, along with a sound ethical and moral grounding and an understanding of diversified cultures, will provide them with the insight and abilities needed for continuing development after their school years have concluded.
To help achieve these objectives, Siam University has promoted research, extended educational services, and concentrated on national cultural preservation through close cooperation with local communities and industries.
For 40 years, Siam University has been developing and aiming toward international recognition as one of the leading universities in Asia, and will continue to expand its vision to make Siam one of the worlds foremost educational institutions. With its mission in mind, Siam University holds to this vision of continuing to offer the quality education that it has been providing since 1965, for Bangkok, for Thailand, and for the planet we all share.

History
Siam University was founded in 1965 by late Dr. Narong Mongkhonvanit as the first three-year private engineering school in Thailand, and began by educating a student body of just two hundred.
In 1973, Siam University, then known as Siam Technical College, was formerly established as a private institution of higher education with authorization to grant degrees.
Soon after, in 1975, the university launched programs leading to baccalaureate degrees in Accounting, Marketing and Secretarial Science.
A full-fledged University
Later, in 1986, Siam Technical College became Siam Technical University, a full-fledged private educational institution. Three years later the name was changed to the present Siam University, to better reflects its diversity in fields of study.
In 1995, an International College was established, offering Bachelor's degrees in International Business and Hotel and Tourism Management. Today, the Commission of Higher Education, a branch of the Ministry of Education, ranks Siam University International College among Thailand's top ten in terms of foreign students population.
Recent Developments
Siam University continues to expand fast. A number of new academic units have been launched recently in response to the needs skilled labor both at the national and regional levels.
For example, the Faculty of Engineering launched the Institute of Printing Engineering in 2007 to help prepare skilled professionals, as the country plans to become a major printing and publishing hub.
At the same time, the Faculty of Communication Arts launched a new academic program in Digital Media.
Recently, the Graduate School inaugurated a Doctoral Degree program in Business Administration (Marketing) was started, as well as a new College, the College of Pharmacy, offering a six-year undergraduate program in Pharmaceutical Care.
