On the 8th of June, 2015, Siam University marked the epic induction of its Nursing Students. This symbolic induction would, from henceforth, recognize them officially as nurses. The amazing number of students who were inducted at this ceremony marked a positive sign for the more demanding health sector.

During this induction, Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit performed the symbolic ceremony of handing Nursing regalia like the nurse’s hair caps and its pinning needles to the inductees. This activity served as a form of symbolic ritual to officially welcome the new Nurses to the Nursing profession.

Some Renown Professional Nurses invited during the occasion had themselves welcomed the new inductees by dressing them in the proper code befitting of them as Nurses. In a short speech delivered by their representatives, they stated that it was a delight to have more Professional Nurses in the fold, as demands for professionals in this field was high at the moment.

The University President, Dr. Ponchai Mongkonavit at the ceremony congratulated these students for their induction into the nurses’ fold. He showered encomiums on the inductees whom he said had showed positive signs of great learning and patience during the period of their studies.

He further described the inductees as very dedicated to their vocation. He has identified nursing profession as a call. It is an important call towards service to humanity. Their duties to humanity are reckoned as one burdened with selfless service given the amount of time and patience required to listen to Patients.

In a further show of appreciation, he also thanked their teachers whose immense efforts ensured that the inductees were well prepared to undertake the future task, demanded of them by such symbolic induction. He thereby commended their Teaching roles as sacrosanct in the nursing faculty.

The students were highly elated at their induction. They had after the ceremony appreciated their faculty staffs for turning their life-long dreams into reality. They also promised to remain, good ambassadors of the University wherever they are assigned in the future to serve in the medical sectors of the society.
